Thankyou

Well today I received confirmation that all my donations for the race for life had been received and that my donation page although still up to view HERE is no longer accepting donations..

[Me and Cora]

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported me and Cora to help raise money for Cancer Research UK

We raced at Heaton Park in Manchester UK on the 21st of June 2009.

The day was very warm and very dull, infact it did rain a few times and we didn't bring coats!

Yes we wore our daft pink outfits as promised and dragged our butts round a mostly uphill 5k walk...me pushing Cora in her pushchair..

Which may sound kinda easy, but as I had to start off in the pushchair pit lol I got my heels clipped several times by oblivious uncaring mums!

I can tell you never underestimate the competitive nature of mums and buggy's even at a charity event.

Thank you to everyone who donated online together we raised £49.50!

Plus another £9.73! on top of that because of the wonderful tax claim gift aid thingy me bob.

Thank you to everyone who donated offline on my sponsor form, together we raised £38.50!

Plus gift aid which has yet TBC

Me and Cora ourselves raised £21.00! buying Cancer Research UK purchases many MANY pins and a keyring haha

We had a target of £150.00 and the total we raised was £118.73+ !!!

I didn't think we would even get that near to it, considering the small circles I operate in these days and so I am even more thankful.

As some of you know the reasons for me doing the Race for Life this year were because of my Nan.

[Nanna Mo]

She was told she had cancer and that nothing can be done. They told her they didn't expect her to last very long and I honestly believed she wouldn't be here to see all the family rally as they have and raise money for this cause in her name.

But she did and she even sponsored me £2!

On the day of the Race I was told she had been taken into hospital so it made the event all that more emotional. She has since returned home and is now being taken care of by nurses and the family.

Sadly the cancer has spread to her brain now and she is deteriorating, but she is a strong women, the strongest I've ever known and she's still fighting. I think the family are like me hoping we get one last Christmas.

But for me the fund raising is not over!

Come October I intend to be part of Zombie- Aid

They had one back in July but I didn't find out about it until after the event and I was in fact gutted I had missed it.

Not only did it serve as a really funny and cool thing to do on a sunday afternoon meandering through Manchester town centre..

...But as well as doing the walk they also raised money for Cancer Research UK, Children in Need, Christies and Cash for Kids.

And if that wasn't enough, it was also a world record attempt at getting the most zombies in one place at one time.

They had well over 1,500 Zombies, but sadly not all registered so the official tally came 160 people short of the world record.

So Zombie-Aid 2 will be held very soon!
